Chris Gardner 在逆境中自強

經過一星期的期待，在三月廿五日星期天我終看了自同名自傳改篇的電影【The Pursuit Of Happyness 尋找快樂的故事】。在80年代初，Chris Gardner為著達成自己成為股票經紀的理想，放棄了醫療用品推銷員的工作，加入E.F. Hutton的股票經紀見習生訓練計劃，正當一切看似順利之時，他才知道雇用他的經理已被開除。面對失業，接著更因為未能繳交違例泊車的$1,200罰款，被收監10天。在沒有任何過往經驗，沒有學歷，一貧如洗，兼且要帶著他剛學行的兒子，他仍毅然接受Dean Witter Reynolds每月只得微薄$1,000的股票經紀見習生訓練計劃，他每天早到公司，不斷致電尋找客戶，很晚才離開，日間倉促安排兒子到幼兒托管，晚上忙碌找食物，找安全地方，例如廉價旅社、收容中心、公園甚至反鎖在地下鐵路的公廁內，與兒子睡覺。最後，Chris成功考到股票經紀牌照，更為該公司計劃唯一被聘請的見習生，成了他日後事業的轉捩點。

有人會覺得生活既苦，看一齣喜劇又或溫情片總比較甜。也許近來日間的工作，讓我感到心煩洩氣，看罷Chris Gardner面對都市生活逼人，衣食住行也成每天的難題，那種在逆境下，並不氣餒，仍能堅持自己的理想，不屈不撓地向目標進發，最終人定勝天，我就是喜歡在苦難中的同 行、陪伴、分享的感覺，讓我重新得力。我回味在戲中的騷靈詩歌，我也想禱告：「主啊，不要移開那山；賜我能力跨越它！請不要挪開障礙，但帶領我繞過…」
